Tips for Safely Moving Plants in December

Hey everyone! I'm currently living in the Pacific Northwest, and my husband and I are planning a move to another state at the end of this year. We'll be driving, which is about a 6 to 7-hour trip, but I'm a bit anxious since we're moving in December and it'll be pretty cold. My husband thinks our plants will be fine in the U-Haul along with our other belongings, but I'm not so sure about that. Has anyone done this before? I'd love some advice because I'm a concerned plant mama!

I used to work at a plant shop that shipped plants during winter. They’d usually include a hand warmer in the box, and it worked well even for long distances. For your 7-hour drive, you can grab some hand warmers from sporting goods or hardware stores, and it shouldn’t cost much. This should help keep your plants cozy and safe during the trip!

That's a great idea! I’ll definitely look into those, thanks!

Honestly, you might want to consider putting the plants in the cab with you instead of the U-Haul. It could get really cold in the back, and plants can be pretty sensitive to temperature changes. Keeping them warm and safe will definitely ease your mind! Just a thought!
