Hi everyone! I'm a minor, but I'm really passionate about having my own homestead or farm when I get older. I'm considering selling some produce and crafts at my local farmers market, and I live in zone 8a or 8b. I want to know what kinds of produce you all like to buy or sell. I'm thinking of growing things like lettuce, herbs, and maybe some unique items you typically can't find in grocery stores to attract more customers. I think my parents would support me using a bit of our yard for this, but I want to focus on crops that produce a lot while maximizing my limited space. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It's a great idea to visit your local farmers market to see what sells well. Favorite foods can vary greatly by region, so chatting with the vendors might give you some good insights since they know their customers best.
You might want to focus on unique items that stand out, like Yellow Pole beans which produce well. Herbs are definitely a win, especially options like oregano and Italian parsley since they can often overwinter. Instead of regular lettuce, consider mini Bok Choi, as it's less common. Just be cautious with how much you pick; leftovers can spoil unless you dry them for later use. Fresh herbs tend to fetch good prices too, and people love them!
Thanks for all the ideas!

Good idea, totally agree!
