Tips for Starting a Garden in College?

Hey everyone! I'm a senior in high school, and I've just started my first garden on my own, which has been such a joy! With college coming up soon, I'm bummed about leaving my garden behind at my parents' house. I'm curious if anyone has tips on how to get started with gardening in college. Has anyone been part of a gardening club on campus? What was that like?

I can relate to your situation — moving to an apartment without a backyard can be tricky. I got really into indoor gardening with grow lights, herbs, and even tiny tomato plants. Check if there are community gardens or clubs around; that could be a good resource for you. Plus, you can experiment with space-saving techniques while still having fun with your gardening passion!

I’m all about the indoor gardening too! And hey, don’t forget about some cool composting initiatives if they’re available; they're also a great way to get involved and make a little plot your own.

You can definitely garden in college! I started seeds in my dorm room and then planted them at home after the spring semester ended. The semester typically wraps up around mid-May, so you'll have plenty of time to grow some beautiful plants at home! That's a solid plan if you can't garden at school.

If your college has a community garden, take advantage of it! If there's no garden, maybe you can organize one. It’s a great way to connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts and share tips.
