Too Much Light from My New Solar Shades—What Can I Do?

Hey everyone! I recently had some 3% solar shades put in my living room, but I've realized they're letting in way too much light, especially in the mornings. I'm looking for suggestions on how I can reduce the brightness; what are my options at this point?

Hey, if you're desperate, aluminum foil can block 100% of light! It's a bit unconventional, but it works. Just stick it on your windows! Or, you could consider getting some dark curtains; they’re great for keeping out light without going full DIY. You might even prefer plantation shutters for the flexibility!

First off, you could always consider taking those shades down and selling them. There are definitely better options out there for solar shades if you want something that blocks more light. Also, check with the place you bought them from to see if they have any return or exchange policies.

Make sure you really got what you wanted! If those shades only block 3% and you're looking for something more like 97%, it might be worth researching other brands. You could buy a sample to test out before committing, or think about pairing your shades with some blackout curtains or window film to really cut down the light.
