Transforming a Side Room in My BNB – Need Help!

Hey everyone! I recently ended a relationship and am staying in an Airbnb property that's doing quite well with bookings ahead. There's a side room, around 150 square feet, that I've mainly used for storage. I'm planning to convert this room into my temporary living space while guests are visiting. It's in pretty rough shape with a significant crack down the center – about 1 to 1.5 inches wide in some spots, stretching the entire length. I need tips on how to fill this crack while staying on a tight budget since I aim for a quick but effective fix to make the room livable. There's also a ceiling with wood pieces that have gaps, leading to the garage above (which isn't insulated—just used for storage). Should I just caulk the gaps, or would it be better to tack some insulation and then cover it with panel board? I'm open to any ideas, especially since I have friends ready to help out. Thanks for your thoughts!

If you're tight on time and money, consider tacking something up temporarily and using foam sealer from a home improvement store to fill the cracks. I have a Florida room that had a big gap, and I used just one can of foam sealer. It's held up well through all sorts of weather! Make sure to fill any small openings too to keep out the bugs. A little insect repellent spray can help as well!

Thanks for the tip! That’s a good idea for filling it. I've also read that using backer rod and then exterior caulk followed by quickcrete would be a solid plan for that big crack. I’ve got most of the materials, just need the quickcrete now. I’ll definitely caulk those ceiling gaps too and keep up with the spray.
