I'm working on a project, and my wife suggested rounding the edges on some shelves. Sounds simple, right? Well, here I am, two weeks in with a budget that got a bit out of hand! I've always had issues with routers, and after dealing with a problematic Bosch setup in the past, I thought I'd give it another shot with clearer instructions this time. I followed the Kreg portable router table instructions carefully, drilled holes to match the router plate and attached everything as they suggested. However, the screws provided seem way too short, and after a few passes, one sheared off, causing the router to fall. I tried getting longer screws (10-24 x 3.4), but they don't fit. I even tried countersinking them more, but no luck—it's such a pain! I could really use some advice or direction before I lose my cool and chuck it all outside!

Check the thickness of the router table. Bring that measurement along with the router and base to the hardware store and ask them for help. They should have the right screws for you!
I’ve had no issues with my Bosch 1617 fitting into my Kreg table; I didn't need to drill any holes. Have you removed the base from the router? That might help with the fit!
Yeah, I followed the instructions and used Pattern 1 for my Bosch 1617, drilled the holes, but it’s still a no-go. Super frustrating!
Right now, I managed to get two screws in with some longer ones I bought, but one screw still won’t go in at all. The original screws are too short; I countersunk a lot but it didn’t help much. Here’s what I’m dealing with: [image link]. Maybe you can see something I missed?
I think you need something more aggressive for that fit! Did you try any alternative screws? Maybe something with a bit more grip might do the trick.

I did try my local hardware store, but they were a bit perplexed by the metric options.
