Trouble with My Torpedo Heater – Help Needed!

Asked By HeaterFix4U On

I've been having some issues with my torpedo heater this year. It was working perfectly fine last year, but recently, when I tried to use it for the first time this season, it wouldn't stay lit. I turned it off for a bit, and when I tried to fire it back up, the igniter stopped clicking, and as soon as I let off the button, the flame went out. The battery is fully charged, and I have a full tank of propane. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I haven’t had any issues with mine. It works like a charm! Just a heads-up, though, people often overlook battery life. If you’re running it on a big battery, it should last around 8 hours with a 6 or 8 Ah battery, but it seems like not many share their experiences on that.

Yeah, I’ve heard varying opinions about battery usage, so it’s good to know 8 hours is average!

No issues here! I absolutely love my torpedo heater. After using it moderately for a couple of seasons at job sites, it still fires up like new. I usually only need to click the igniter for about 5 seconds before it turns on.

You might want to try cleaning the flame rod. Sometimes, residue can build up and affect the flame stabilization.

Thank you!! I’ll give that a shot.
