Hey folks! I recently set up eight solar panels with a Weco 5kWh hybrid inverter, and I've got four 350A gel batteries. Unfortunately, they hardly seem to charge properly, and the Weco app shows them as only 170A. This results in pretty short battery life, around 2-3 hours. Has anyone else faced a similar issue or have any advice on how to fix this? Thanks a lot!

It sounds like you're working with a 5 kW inverter and 350 Ah batteries, right? Just double-check the voltage of those batteries—if they're 12V, you're looking at about 2 kWh usable since you should aim for a 50% Depth of Discharge (DoD). Also, make sure the inverter settings for battery type and charging voltage are correct. How does the inverter figure out the 170 Ah capacity? That's a bit odd!
So it looks like you've got a 350 Ah pack set at 48V, which gives you a total capacity of around 15 kWh. However, the 30 A charge current seems a bit low. You should try increasing that—perhaps set it around 40 A, which is about 10% of the max power. When was the last time you fully charged those batteries? If you’re on batteries every night, they might not be reaching full charge, which can also be an issue.
I usually set it to 40 A, but I think they’ve never been fully charged since we rely on them every night. I also bump it to 55 volts! Is there something in the inverter I’m missing to adjust for that?

Thanks so much for your input! Yes, they're connected in series as 12V batteries. I appreciate your advice, and I’ll check the settings on the app!
