Troubleshooting Help: GE Dual Oven – Bake Function Won’t Work

Hey everyone! I've got a GE JGB850SEF1SS dual oven gas range, and I'm running into an issue with the top oven. The Bake function just won't work, but the Broil function is fine. Interestingly, both functions operate correctly in the lower oven. I've already replaced the igniter switch and the control board, but I'm still having the same problem. I'm at a loss here—what should I try next?

Hey Tech_Guru123! Thanks for jumping in. The igniter does glow when I'm using the Broil function, but not when I switch to Bake. I haven’t tested the voltages yet, but all parts seem to be working with Broil, so I’m thinking there might be an issue with the wiring in the control panel. I replaced the control panel, but the problem persists. I don’t have an ammeter right now, but I can grab one if that’ll help.

First off, stop tossing parts at the problem and grab a multimeter! Check if the igniter lights up when you set it to Bake. If it doesn’t, see if there's voltage going to the igniter. Also, it’s worth checking the gas valve for the Baking element. A clamping ammeter can help measure how much current is passing through the igniter, too.
