I just had new sod laid down about 30 days ago, and now TruGreen came to my house out of nowhere and applied fertilizer that contains iron and a weed killer called Metsulfuron Methyl. I didn't receive any warning—usually, they send multiple texts beforehand letting me know. I'm really worried that my grass is going to die because of this treatment. Should I flood my lawn with water to dilute the chemicals, or is that a bad idea since we're already watering it for 45 minutes every day?

That's really strange for TruGreen to show up unannounced. Usually, they should notify you before any treatments. If you have a contract, make sure to check the terms and possibly file a complaint since this could affect your lawn. But don't panicking too much; just keep watering as usual and monitor the sod.
You're probably in the clear! Since it's been 30 days since you laid the sod, the treatment shouldn't be too harmful. Just stick to your regular watering schedule; flooding it might actually do more harm than good. Just keep an eye on your lawn for any weird changes!
Thanks for the reassurance! My heart was racing thinking about it.

We definitely have a contract, but they’ve never done this before. I’ll follow up with them to see what’s going on!
