Using 15% Vinegar to Kill Weeds on Artificial Grass: Tips Needed

I recently got a 5-liter bottle of 15% white vinegar and I'm planning to use it as a weed killer on my artificial grass. Do I need to dilute it, or can I use it straight from the bottle in my sprayer? Also, should I add any salt or dish soap to it? If so, how much?

Going for 20% or higher vinegar is usually more effective for killing weeds. With 15%, you might just be trimming them back instead of killing them off completely. Plus, if you have the chance, consider real grass instead of the plastic stuff. It'll fare better in the long run!

If you're looking for a cheap and eco-friendly way to tackle those weeds, I get it. Just be mindful that every time you trim the weeds, their roots might still be there and keep coming back. It could turn into a persistent issue.

Yeah, I can see how that could become a cycle. Maybe I should just let them grow a bit and see what happens?

Letting them grow could sometimes work, but they might just take over!

Honestly, using 15% vinegar might not be the best fit for artificial grass. It's pretty strong and could potentially damage it. You might want to test a small area first. I’ve had success with a 5% vinegar mix, plus a bit of salt and dish soap for better effect. Just keep in mind, too much salt can ruin the soil beneath, so be cautious!

That's a good point! I've heard that high salt levels can really impact what can grow there.

Thanks for that tip! I'll definitely test it out first.
