What are my options for transporting lumber with a small car?

I'm trying to dive into woodworking but I only have a Toyota Corolla for transportation. This makes it tough to haul larger items like plywood sheets and 2x4 boards that I often pick up from Marketplace. What are some practical strategies to manage this?

You might want to rent a truck from places like U-Haul or Home Depot for about $20 a day. That way you can stock up on plywood and boards without hassle. Alternatively, some lumber suppliers offer local delivery, so check if that's an option in your area!

Totally agree! Delivery services can be a lifesaver, especially if you don’t want to deal with loading and unloading.

If you're looking for a quick fix, consider getting a roof rack for your Corolla. You can strap larger items down. Just be careful with bigger sheets like MDF since they can bend easily. When it’s not too far, the rental trucks are a solid choice too.

Right? And for smaller pieces, many home improvement stores will cut wood down to size for you, which can help avoid extra trips!

You could also bring a circular saw along for the ride. Just cut sheets down in the parking lot! And if you really need a lot of material, stock up and have it delivered all at once to save on costs.
