What Are Some Cat-Safe Indoor Climbing Vines for My Apartment?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for suggestions on plants that can climb up the vertical wooden beams in my apartment. I'm thinking of placing the pots on the counter next to the beams. I'd love something that doesn't need a giant pot and, most importantly, is safe for my cat. Any recommendations? Thanks a bunch!

You might want to check out Hoyas! They’re generally cat-safe and can grow well on a trellis. Plus, they have a variety of types, and some even produce lovely, fragrant flowers! There's also the Lipstick plant, although it's usually more of a trailing option. If you're considering something a bit different, the Vanilla orchid could work too, just confirm it's safe for your kitty. Another option is the sweet potato vine, but I’m not sure how well it does indoors. The ASPCA website is a great place to verify if plants are toxic to cats, just to be safe!

Just a heads-up, I heard Hoyas can actually be toxic to cats! Might want to research that before getting one.

Vanilla orchids are supposed to be safe, but they can be tricky to care for!

How about trying *Cissus alata*? It’s a really adaptable vine that does well in various conditions and is non-toxic to cats. Sounds like a good fit for your space!
