Hi everyone! My flatmates and I want to start a little indoor garden next year, but none of us have any gardening experience. We're looking for recommendations on easy herbs that can thrive indoors in our chilly place. Ideally, we're after low-maintenance options since there are eight of us—surely, at least one of us can remember to water them! Also, if there are any simple vegetables we can grow in small pots that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance for your help!

Basil is a fantastic choice for beginners! It's pretty easy to grow and goes great with tomatoes, especially in salads. Dill is also a good option since it's low maintenance. Just make sure to place the basil in indirect sunlight, and you should be good to go!
Rosemary can be a bit trickier; it tends to die unexpectedly, while basil thrives if you water it every couple of days. So far, I've managed to get my Roma tomatoes to sprout, but they need a lot of room, so I might have to move them to the community garden eventually. If you’re pressed for space, maybe consider smaller bush tomato varieties! You’ll definitely notice a difference in taste between fresh herbs and store-bought ones!
I’ll definitely give dill a go! I've got a tiny bit of outdoor space for bigger pots, too. Thanks for the tips! I'll also check into those smaller tomato varieties.

Your basil looks amazing! I can see you have a good variety. Have you tried growing tomatoes? Are they easy too?
