I live in a small studio, and my cat gets really anxious when she hears noises from the hallway or outside. I've thought about using weatherstripping to reduce the sound, but I'm not sure I can install it properly. I also came across thick door curtains or covers that might help. I'm looking for options that are easy to set up and won't be too much of a hassle. Any suggestions?

One thing I've found that really helps is using some kind of background noise, like having the TV on or playing the radio. It can drown out a lot of those annoying outside sounds. I do this when I'm home and it seems to calm my dog during construction noises, so it might work for your cat too!
If you're not feeling up to DIY projects, hiring a handyman to do the installation sounds like a solid plan. I know someone whose rescue cat is terrified of every little sound, so a quiet environment might really make a difference for your girl!
It can be pretty tough with cats since they hear so well! If the noise is really bothering her, it might be worth discussing options with your vet, like calming medications. Also, the thick curtains could definitely help, but if installation seems daunting, maybe you could hire someone to put them up for you.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll give that a shot and see if it helps her feel more secure.
