Hey everyone! I'm on the lookout for books that explore philosophical or psychological insights into woodworking, handicrafts, or manual labor in general. It's a topic I've always found intriguing, but I never thought to dive into it before. Any recommendations?

Don't overlook "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"! While it’s not strictly about manual labor, it’s a philosophical journey that really resonates with makers. Every artisan should give it a shot!
You absolutely need to check out "Shop Class As Soulcraft" by Matthew Crawford. It's a must-read that tackles the deeper meaning behind engaging in manual work and craftsmanship. Trust me, it'll give you a new perspective on the joy of working with your hands!
Added to my cart! Can’t wait to read it.
Came to say this as well. It's fantastic!
"The Anarchist's Workbench" by Chris Schwarz is a great pick! It's primarily about constructing a sturdy workbench, but it dives deep into the philosophy behind quality craftsmanship. You'll gain a lot from it!
And it’s free to download too, right? I’m definitely adding it to my reading list.
His other book on stick chairs is like a love letter to woodworking!

This is one that everyone in the crafting community should definitely read!
