I'm looking to brighten up my desk with a small pot plant, ideally something that doesn't grow too big and is easy to care for. Since my room lacks direct sunlight, I plan to use a clip-on grow light for it. I'm not a fan of cacti, so I'm hoping to get some suggestions that fit those criteria!

How about a Ledebouria socialis? I've had mine for over 8 years, and it's been super easy to care for. It stems from a desk plant in an old clay cup! Just keep an eye on the light because it'll stretch a bit without enough, but it's still fun to have around.
My pick would be a Haworthia! They're available in all sorts of shapes and sizes, they grow slowly, and they should do great under a grow light. Just remember to follow the care tips since they're easy to care for, but can die if neglected. Here's a pic of my cute 'Korizato' if you want to see one!
You should totally consider getting a snake plant! They're pretty resilient and can thrive in various lighting conditions. Plus, they don't take up too much space.
A ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas) could be a perfect choice too! They're pretty small and can adapt well to low light with some care.
