I'm looking to create a comfortable path from my ground-level deck to my hot tub, which is about 10 feet away. Right now, I'm just walking on dirt, and since I live in the southwest with dry sandy soil, I'd love some suggestions for making a path that I can walk on barefoot without getting too dirty. Any ideas?

Pavers are a popular choice for paths, but they can get pretty hot for bare feet, especially in the southwest sun. Have you considered using a wooden garden pathway? They're like rolls of attached wood slats and can be a comfortable, cooler option to walk on. This setup could keep your feet from burning while giving you a nice path to the hot tub.

That sounds like a great idea! Just thought about how a wooden path might attract critters in a desert climate, though. On the flip side, coconuts coir works wonders as well. It’s super comfortable on bare feet and stays put once it settles.
