What are some pet-safe plants for low-light conditions?

I'm looking to add some greenery to my living room, but it's quite dark due to a giant west-facing window that's mostly shaded by a large porch overhang. My space only gets a couple of hours of sunlight each day. Plus, I have two cats and a dog, so I need to ensure any plants I choose are safe for my pets. I've had some success with a cast iron plant, but I want to incorporate one or two more plants to diversify my decor. I consider myself a beginner in plant care but I'm open to giving extra love and attention to plants that fit my needs. Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

If you're looking for pet-safe options, you might want to consider some palm species like Chamaedorea elegans (parlor palm), Howea forsteriana (kentia palm), Rhapis excelsa (lady palm), or Chrysalidocarpus lutescens (areca palm). These palms are generally non-toxic and can handle low light since they naturally grow in understory conditions. Just a heads up, though—cats might not be plant safe themselves!

These are perfect! Thanks! Lol I'm well aware of the dangers my cats pose to plants ? my cast iron plant has brown edges from all the little cat nibbles.
