I'm facing a bit of a challenge with mold on an exterior wall in my unit. We're currently in a dispute with our HOA about fixing a rotted wall, and it's going to take some time—potentially months—before it's addressed. In the meantime, there's a section of drywall that's been cut open, which exposes the mold inside my unit. I'm considering using spray foam insulation and desiccant packets, followed by a temporary drywall patch to seal it up. Does anyone have any other suggestions or thoughts on this plan?

You could spray any visible mold with Concrobium, which helps encapsulate it. After that, cover the area well with plastic and tape it down. Just be careful not to add anything that could complicate things or trigger extra charges from the HOA.
Since the mold is visible from the inside, I'd definitely recommend putting up a temporary barrier. Make sure to seal it off well with plastic sheeting and strong tape. It’ll help keep things contained until you can get a proper fix in place.
