Hey fellow gardeners! I recently started growing plants in my garage using just some shelf space with grow lights and warming mats. I've been seeing a lot of posts about folks using silver-lined tents and plastic greenhouses, and I'm curious—what kind of difference do those make? I'm really enjoying gardening and am open to investing more in my setup. Any suggestions or insights would be great! Also, just so you know, I'm located in south Texas, which might be relevant to this. Thanks!

I made a makeshift greenhouse using a big plastic shelf and covering it with clear plastic, plus a heat lamp for warmth. It helps my seeds germinate faster! I’ve tried smaller greenhouses before, but they either were flimsy or too small. Currently, most of my seedlings are outside getting used to the environment. Here’s a little peek at my setup!
For sure! It's all about making it work in your space. Plus, nothing wrong with DIY!
Honestly, a lot of it comes down to personal preference and what works best for you. I’ve got mine started in my unheated basement with affordable grow lights, and it’s been a great setup for years. Don't feel pressured by what everyone else is doing; find your own groove! Good luck!

Looks awesome! I love the creativity! Sometimes, the best setups are the ones we put together ourselves.
