I'm looking for suggestions on a 240V inverter charger that can handle a 48V system with a capacity of 4-8kW. I've got micros on my south-facing roof, but I'd like to set up batteries in a detached garage. I've heard about using two Multiplus inverters to achieve split phase, but I'm also considering hybrid PV inverters even if I won't be utilizing the PV function entirely, since it might save me some cash. Any advice or recommendations?

I've been using a Schneider XW Pro for my setup along with 30kWh of LiFePO4 batteries. It's one of the best inverters out there from a hardware perspective. Just a heads up, the software has some quirks, but overall, it's pretty reliable.
You might want to check out Eco Worthy. You could go with either two 5k inverters or a single 10k unit. They can be a solid choice for your setup.

This looks great! That 6kW model seems perfect for my needs. I just hope it works well with Home Assistant!
