What Are the Best Electronic Deadbolt Locks to Consider?

I'm looking for recommendations for electronic deadbolt locks to replace my current Schlage ones, which have started to give me issues. I'm particularly interested in locks that have decent battery life so I don't have to keep changing them every few months. A backup physical key is also important in case the lock dies. While a fingerprint option would be great, it's not a dealbreaker. Lastly, if it has WiFi or app access, that would be a nice bonus, though I understand that feature can drain batteries faster. I'm currently considering the Yale Assure Lock 2 and the Kwikset Aura. What locks do you all recommend?

I know they can be a bit on the expensive side, but you should definitely check out the Lockly models. They have some great features!

When it comes to electronic locks, I personally prefer not to go for the WiFi or Bluetooth enabled ones. They can be more vulnerable to hacks despite the convenience. My family has been using basic locks, and we've only changed the batteries once in five years! Just something to think about.

Yeah, that's a fair point. I just think that the chance of a smart lock being targeted is low compared to a regular burglar just smashing a window. You could also set up the smart locks on an isolated network for extra security.

Honestly, nobody is going to hack your deadbolt via Wi-Fi. A criminal's more likely to just break a window to get in.

If you’re concerned about battery drain, I'd suggest opting for Z-Wave or Zigbee locks instead of WiFi. They typically last a lot longer between battery replacements, which could save you the hassle later!
