I'm currently researching the right components for my roof-mounted solar system. For now, I'm just buying the solar panels, with plans to add a battery in a year or two. I want to ensure that the inverter I choose is compatible with multiple battery brands, to keep my options open. The installer I'm consulting suggested the Solaredge Energy Hub SE10000H-US, but I've heard mixed reviews about Solaredge. I'm looking for opinions on this inverter and recommendations for alternatives. My system's capacity will be around 6-7kW. Thanks!

It seems like the Solaredge inverter isn't the best match for standard DC-coupled 48V battery systems. From what I found, it mostly supports AC coupling, which might not be what you need. I’d suggest checking out a hybrid string inverter like Flexboss instead; it could work better for your future battery plans.
Have you considered ditching 120V appliances? It could open up more inverter options for you, but I realize it's not an easy transition in the US.
I have not. I think that would be difficult to pull off here in the states.
There are plenty of other inverter brands like Victron, Growatt, and EG4 that work well with 48V DC systems. Some combos can communicate really well with each other too. But for a general recommendation like yours, I'd steer clear of Solaredge if you want versatility in battery choices. You're on the right track wanting to learn more before your purchase!
So you definitely would not recommend the Solaredge? I know it's a general question, but I'm still trying to understand my options.

Thanks, I'll check into that!
