I'm new to gardening and I'm looking for suggestions on hardy, perennial plants that I can grow in pots. Ideally, I want options that are also low maintenance. Any recommendations?

If you're in a mostly sunny spot, here are a few great options: how about rosemary? It's got these cool little flowers and it's really handy for cooking too. Witch hazel could be a nice choice as well, it likes the sun and offers some winter color. You might also look at small acers for fall color or azaleas for gorgeous spring flowers. I'd also check what your neighbors are growing in pots for more ideas suited to your area!

It really depends on what you're after! Do you want flowers, herbs, or maybe just some nice greenery? Also, consider how much sunlight your space gets - is it mostly shady or in the full sun? Those factors can really influence which plants will thrive in your pots.

For tough, shrubby perennials, I'd recommend English lavenders or heathers – they do really well in containers! If you want smaller perennials, consider geums, primroses, and thrifts. They're pretty low fuss compared to other plants!
