Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a quieter table saw since my work area has a bad echo, and despite sound dampening efforts, my current saw is just too loud. I'm aware that table saws tend to be noisy in general, but I'm hoping to find the quietest options out there. It's important for me because I often have people around while I'm working, and I want them to be comfortable. I already have good hearing protection for myself, but it's really about everyone else's comfort. Any suggestions?

Don’t forget that good hearing protection can make a huge difference if upgrading isn’t an option right now. Sometimes that’s the more economical solution!
Jobsite saws, like the one you have from Skil, usually have a universal motor that can be pretty loud. If you're looking for something quieter, consider upgrading to a cabinet saw with an induction motor. They are much quieter but expect a higher price tag. Worth it for peace and quiet!
You might want to check out a belt drive saw—they're usually a lot quieter. I have an old Craftsman belt drive that runs super silently. Also, if you let us know what model you're currently using, we might have more tailored suggestions!
My current saw is a super old, worn-out skillsaw, so anything would be an upgrade for me!

I've heard good things about the DeWalt 743n; it has an induction motor and is way quieter than most jobsite saws.
