I'm living in an apartment with parquet floors, and I've had a bad experience with plant pots leaking water and damaging the floor, costing me a lot of money. My landlord has made it clear that I can't use any pots that have drainage holes because of the risk of overflow. I'm looking for alternatives that would allow me to still keep plants healthy without risking more damage. Would adding things like sand or peat moss help? Or should I try putting stones at the bottom to prevent root rot? Are there terracotta pots available without holes that can keep my plants in good condition? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You could consider using larger decorative pots that don't have drainage holes, and then place your smaller, regular pots with drainage inside those. Just remember to water the plants in the sink or tub and put them back in the decorative pot afterward. Just make sure no water collects in the bottom to avoid mold and rot!

Are these bigger pots okay for my larger plants though? I'm worried about moving them too much and causing damage.
