What Are the Best Shallow Drywall Anchors for a Pocket Door?

I have a project where I need to hang something that weighs about 20 lbs in the middle of a pocket door cavity. It's crucial that the anchor doesn't take up too much space so it won't interfere with the operation of the door. Additionally, the hole for the anchor should be close in size to the screw itself. Can anyone recommend a good product for this situation? Thanks!

If you're working with a pocket door, just make sure to hit one of the horizontal wood slats inside. You won't even need an anchor that way! Just go with screws that are under 1 1/4" to avoid hitting anything else. But watch out if it’s all glass; putting an anchor there isn’t really possible without issues.

I recommend using the High & Mighty hooks. They don't go into the drywall cavity and they have solid weight ratings. I've been a fan of these for years, but they mainly work with hooks, not screws. They might be a nice backup option!

Check out these toggle bolts by Everbilt. They’re rated for 42 lbs in drywall and provide a strong hold. Just cut down the bolt head to fit your door width if necessary. The only catch is that they need a 1/4" hole, and you'll need to make sure you can insert them deep enough for the wings to catch.
