Hey everyone! My dad just gifted me his Jet drill press, which is super generous of him, but honestly, it's way too big for my little 8x8 workshop. It's in mint condition, but it's so heavy that I can't move it by myself—it currently takes up almost all of my counter space! I do a lot of small DIY projects like bike fabrication and home shelves, so I think I need something smaller that's easier to handle. Does anyone know of a good, compact drill press that would fit what I need? Also, I'm hoping to sell the Jet to help fund the new one. I'd appreciate any recommendations or thoughts!

You might want to check out the Nova Voyager; they have a bench-top version that could work in your space!
Wen has several sizes and models that are reasonably priced. I've looked at those—they seem smaller and lighter, which could be perfect for your setup!
I was looking at those. I assume they might be a downgrade in quality, though? But honestly, the Jet doesn’t fit in my workshop anyway, so maybe going for something more practical makes sense.
Have you considered keeping the Jet and repurposing it in your shop? It might be a good multitasker for bigger projects, especially since it could have more speed settings than smaller models. Just a thought!
That’s a valid point. We’ve been discussing moving, so maybe having it for a future space would be wise. But I also tend to declutter, so I’m torn!

I’ll check that out. Thank you!
