What are the best tall flowers to grow outside my big window for privacy?

Hey folks! I have a really large window next to my bed that I love to open for natural light, but I feel like I'm on display. It's not completely clear, but I'd like some flowers that can block visibility while still letting that sunlight in. I already have a plant that only covers a third of the window, so I'm looking for pretty flowers that will enhance the view from both inside and outside. Any suggestions? I'm open to ideas and happy to clarify anything if needed!

One great option could be to set up a trellis right in front of your window. Just make sure it’s tall enough and a few feet away so there’s room for flowers to grow. You can plant perennial vines like clematis or honeysuckle, which will give you coverage year-round. If you’re looking for taller flowers that reseed themselves, consider options like Mexican petunia!

If you prefer not to replant every year, climbing roses could be a beautiful addition! They'd create a lovely screen, but keep in mind their thorns. You mentioned some neighborhood cats – maybe look for a thornless variety to keep them safe!

Honestly, a flower screen might not be the best. It might only work for a couple of months before going dormant, leaving you with an empty look. Maybe mix in some evergreen plants for year-round coverage?
