I've just bought a basic greenhouse made of plastic with a wire shelf, hoping to grow some vegetables year-round. I'm eager to get started but realize it's late summer, so germinating may be limited until spring. My greenhouse faces north and gets some shade, but it's in a sheltered spot. I'd love to hear any tips or suggestions on what I can plant now, or ideas for keeping things going until the spring!

Even in late summer, there are still options! You can try sowing giant spinach, kohl rabi, salad leaves, black round Spanish radish, and spring onions like White Lisbon. If your greenhouse is positioned well against a sunny wall, these should do fine even over winter.
I've been planting things like rocket, lettuce, and kohl rabi. Snow peas are also a fun option, and you might find winter cabbage plugs available. Established plants could work too since they give you a head start this season while you wait for spring sowing.
Would getting established plants be a better idea to ensure success this season?

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll look into those and give them a try!
