I'm on the hunt for straw mulch that's as weed-free as possible. I know there may not be a perfect option out there, but I'd love to hear about brands that have given you manageable results!

I usually buy Ez Straw, and while I do get some grass bits, they're manageable. It's the only straw brand I can find around here, and it works fairly well for me.
I appreciate your feedback! I'll keep Ez Straw in mind.
I've been using winter rye as a cover crop. In spring, I let it grow until it flowers, then I cut and dry it. Since it's cut before the seeds become viable, I find it to be about as weed-free as you can get!
That sounds interesting! I have a community garden, though, so I can’t really use it in winter.
I've been getting my bales from a local farm, and surprisingly, I've had no issues with weeds. This year, I'm even trying out straw bale gardening!
That's awesome to hear! I've just been learning about straw bale gardening—definitely keep us posted on how it goes!

I use the same brand! They advertise no herbicides or pesticides, which is a plus.
