What are the best window replacement companies out there?

I've been getting a lot of window salespeople showing up in my neighborhood, claiming they can offer a half-off deal for window replacements. The catch? I'd have to stick a sign in my yard promoting their company. I'm skeptical about their offers and want to know which window companies actually do a good job. I've seen ads for Windows by Anderson, but I'm not sure if they're the best choice. Could anyone recommend some reliable companies for window replacement? Also, for a 4,000 sq ft house, what's a typical cost for replacement? I'm looking for good UV-protected options, especially since I have some custom windows.

Anderson's okay, but I’d recommend you call them directly. We fell for a door-to-door guy once who quoted us a ridiculous $67k for just 14 windows! Don't let those sales pitches fool you.

I absolutely love my custom windows from Thermal. They've been fantastic for insulation and UV protection! Definitely worth checking them out if you want something custom-made.

Thanks for the tip! I'll look into Thermal for my custom needs.

There are plenty of local contractors that advertise window replacements, but watch out for those relying on door-to-door sales. They often charge way more and provide poor quality. It’s best to get quotes from established local businesses. Some only work with a few reputable manufacturers too, which can really simplify things for you.

I've heard great things about Bonelli and Marvin from some contractors I've worked with. They seem like solid choices if you're looking to replace your windows!

It's a good idea to steer clear of door-to-door salespeople for window replacements. Instead, reach out to local glass companies or remodeling contractors; they usually have way better reputations and won’t rip you off. Seriously, those sales guys can be pretty sketchy.
