I've got some bugs in the soil of my Bell Pepper plant, and I'm not sure what they are. They don't look like aphids to me, but I'd appreciate any help identifying them!

What do the bugs actually look like? I had issues with earwigs and slugs last year, and they seriously wrecked my pepper crop! Take a close look—you might find they're similar.
It’d be great to see some photos to give a better idea of what's going on. Descriptions can help, but pictures tell a thousand words!
