What Are These Pipes on My Roof For?

I've been checking out my roof because I've noticed some cracking in the ceiling inside my house. While I didn't find anything concerning on the roof itself, I'm curious about these pipes I came across. What are they for and what is their purpose?

The one on the right is for venting gas, while the left one is a plumbing vent. The plumbing vent is super important—it allows air to enter the plumbing system when water drains, which prevents any sewer gas from sneaking into your house. Also, the larger pipe is related to your furnace, helping to exhaust any harmful gases safely outside. By the way, if you could share a pic of those ceiling cracks, we might be able to help figure that out too!

Those are plumbing vent pipes! They help manage airflow in your plumbing system and prevent sewer gases from coming back into your home.
