Hey everyone! I have a braided hibiscus tree that I've been taking care of for about a year. When I got it, it had a spider mite infestation and a few whiteflies, but I managed to control those issues. The plant is doing great, with lots of new growth and flowers. However, as I was getting ready to repot it today, I noticed some tiny white bugs in the soil. They jumped around and then buried themselves before I could snap a photo. My plant looks healthy, and I haven't seen any whiteflies for months, so I'm wondering if I should be worried about these bugs in the soil.

Those tiny bugs are likely soil mites! I had a similar experience and they turned out to be beneficial for the plant. They feast on dead organic matter and even help control fungus gnat larvae. So, no need to stress too much if that’s what they are!

I did some digging and found one too, but mine looks a bit different. What do these soil mites actually look like?
