When I was a kid, my neighbor had these gorgeous white rocks around their garden that sparkled in the sunlight. I believe they were somewhat rough but had a shiny appearance, perhaps quartz? Now that I'm older, I'm hoping to use similar white rocks for the area beneath my pool fence, but I can't seem to find out what they're called. I've come across some 'marble chips,' but they just don't have the same shine. Does anyone know what type of rocks I'm talking about and where I might find them?

White quartz rock mulch is usually a no-go according to landscapers. It's not the best choice for landscaping because it can get super hot and doesn’t hold moisture well which isn’t great for plants if you're using it in a garden area. However, if you’re just putting it under your pool fence, it might still work okay. Just keep an eye on temperatures and drainage!
