I'm looking to get some inspiration for my garden and I've always had a soft spot for trees. I'd love to hear about your favorite types of trees and what makes them special to you. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hawthorn is my favorite! I love how it looks throughout the seasons. ?
Platycarya strobilacea is a showstopper! It offers multi-season interest and has such a unique look that you hardly ever see them around.
Amelanchier is a treat! It stays small and brings lovely blooms, colorful leaves, and berries without overtaking the garden. ❤️
Last year, I planted an apple tree (Red Devil on M27) and a Rowan, and they both look amazing together! The apple is blooming beautifully right now, and I can't wait to add more like an espalier pear tree when I have more space!
Can't overlook Apple trees! They give amazing blossoms in spring, lovely leaves, and of course, tasty apples in the fall! What more could you want?
Hazel trees are fantastic! They grow tall and blend nicely into any garden. I planted a young hazel along with a Rowan and English Maple, and they're all doing great together.
After doing a bit of research, I just put in a Crabapple - Malus Evereste! The blossoms look gorgeous, and I'm eagerly waiting for the fruit!
I have a thing for Silver Birch and crab apples! They bring such beauty with their blossoms. I've also got a couple of cherry trees that brighten up my garden in spring. You're sure to get a ton of options here!
I've got to say, Rowans are my top pick! They're native, have a great shape, and not too big for most gardens. Plus, those bright red berries add a splash of color when many other plants aren't blooming. They're fantastic for birds and wildlife too!
I'm a fan of Rowan too, but I prefer the pink-berried varieties since I'm not all about the red in my garden. There's a huge variety to choose from!
I've got a dwarf Ginkgo that I'm in love with! Its leaf shape and color are stunning. I'm also a big fan of Acers for their range of colors and beautiful leaf shapes—perfect for sunlight to shine through!
I'm a big fan of flowering cherries! I have a small pink one in a pot, and while my garden is limited, I wish I could add more. They’re just so stunning!
Japanese Maples are my go-to! They come in all sizes and colors, from big shade trees to tiny ones perfect for pots. My favorite is the Shishigashira variety; it's simply beautiful!
Black mulberry is my favorite tree mainly because of its delicious fruit! There's nothing like fresh mulberries in the summer.
I'm all about Eucalyptus for its stunning silver bark! And walnut trees are pretty awesome too, especially for the nuts they produce. There's also a dwarf plum tree at my local primary school that yields the sweetest fruit; it’s super productive!

I totally agree! Plus, they're said to ward off witches if you believe in that sort of thing! They thrive in various soil types, including heavy clay.
