Hey everyone! I'm in South Texas (zone 9B) and have been growing bush tomatoes successfully for years. I'm curious to hear about your favorite varieties of vine tomatoes. What are some that thrive in our climate? Looking to try something new this season!

I've had great success with cherry tomatoes, particularly the Sweet 100s! Last year they did exceptionally well for me in the same area. This year, I'm experimenting with larger tomatoes like Chef's Choice, Beefsteak, and Cherokee Purple. Can't wait to see how they perform!
This year, I'm also trying out Cherokee Purples, Sungolds, and San Marzano. My main focus is on determinate Roma tomatoes since I don’t usually plant them. Planning to make a lot of pasta sauce!
Sungold is my favorite early producer, and I've got 40 plants in the ground! Celebrity tomatoes are my go-to for consistent yields, but my San Marzanos struggle in the heat. The Super Sweet 100s thrive even when it's over 100 degrees!
I'm also in Texas 9B, and the Chef's Choice Red has been doing amazing for me this season! I'm planning to grow more varieties from that line next year. However, my Cherokee Purple has been a dud with just one fruit. I've heard Cherokee Carbon is a better option, so I'm going to try that out next year. Sun Sugar produced big last summer, but I found them lacking in flavor when cooked. The Yellow Pear was okay, but the small size and thick skins weren't my favorite.
I'm all in for Chef's Choice! Every version I’ve tried has been delicious. Last year I grew Chef's Choice Black and it was fantastic!
