I've picked up a few old home improvement books from thrift stores and spent a lot of time watching videos on YouTube, but I still struggle with actually doing projects myself. I guess I'm more of a theoretical home improver! I've seen a lot of great advice here over time, so I'm curious where everyone else gets their knowledge. Is it books, videos, articles, or even passed-down wisdom from family? What resources have helped you become better at home improvement?

You should definitely check out handyman forums. There's such a wide range of projects and questions there that can really boost your skills and confidence.
Honestly, trial and error is the best teacher. If you're lucky, you might learn from someone else's mistakes instead of your own! Just jump in and start trying things out, and you'll improve over time.
So you’re saying I’m a teacher? 😉

Great suggestion, thank you!
