What Basic Tools Do I Need to Start Making My Own Poster Frames?

I've recently been into framing movie posters and selling them as a side hustle. Now, I want to take it a step further by building the frames myself. Since I have no woodworking experience, I'm eager to learn. What's the minimum set of tools I should have to get started with making my own frames?

At the very least, you'll need a decent saw and a steady hand. Plus, make sure you have the right size timber so you can minimize any cutting needed. Starting simple is key!

A quality table saw and miter jig are essential. I'd also recommend some wood glue and clamps to hold those corners tight while the glue sets. Check out Michael Alm on YouTube; he has a great series on making frames and really simplifies the process for beginners!

You'll definitely want a table saw with a miter gauge for precision cuts. This setup gives you a range of options and helps you achieve that accurate finish. It's a solid investment to start off with!.
