What Battery Do I Need for My Shop Vac?

I'm wondering if there's a specific minimum battery requirement for my shop vac because it wouldn't start with my XC 5's. Has anyone experienced this?

I have a 6-gallon model that runs well with older 5.0 batteries, but I keep a 12.0 in it because anything smaller drains too quickly. Just to add, make sure you're clear on whether it's a wet/dry vac; that might change the battery requirements!

If you're using the dual battery model, you need both batteries to be working properly. If one is dead or not seated right, it won't run. But it should work with 1.5AH batteries, even if the run time is short. Make sure you're using it correctly!

Actually, mine runs fine with a single XC 5 battery, so it might depend on the model you have!

Double-check your model specs! Some models like mine run perfectly on XC batteries, while others might need something beefier. Good luck!

It sounds like it might just be a compatibility issue with the XC 5's. My vac works with those, but I also confirm it could depend on the design of the vac you're using.
