What Battery Should I Use for My Trimmer – 8.0 or 12.0 Forge?

I'm looking for some advice on which Forge battery I should use with my lawn tools, especially the trimmer/edger power head. My current 12.0 HO is giving me a hard time, showing only three lights maximum. Is it worth switching to the 12.0 Forge given its extra weight compared to the 8.0 Forge?

I use the 8 amp Forages with my quick-loc attachments, and I save the 12s for my push mower and blower since they maximize my run time. If you're switching batteries frequently, it might be worth considering how you're using them.

I have both the 8.0 and 12.0 Forge batteries, and I've used them in my trimmer this past week. Honestly, they both performed really well; the 12.0 lasted about an hour of pretty constant use before dropping to one light. The weight difference wasn't noticeable because I was using a strap. In terms of performance, they're pretty equal.

I'd say it really depends on how much land you need to cover. Personally, I manage just fine with a 6.0 HO, but if you have a larger area, like a couple of acres, you might want something with more power. Also, I've found it's more about personal preference; I’d rather carry two lighter batteries than one hefty one—except when it comes to the mower, of course.
