I've been noticing a great increase in butterfly numbers in my garden this month compared to all of last year. I'm seeing not just the usual cabbage whites, but a whole bunch of different types! Is anyone else experiencing a boost in butterfly diversity and counts?

I'm really surprised—I've spotted a lot of lesser-speckled browns lately, more than usual. I think it might be because there haven't been any neonics in agriculture this year, which could be helping out!
So far, I've noticed quite a few already, mainly orange-tips and commas. It seems like there’s a good variety popping up!
Absolutely! Just yesterday, I was thinking about how many butterfly species I've spotted—orange-tips, peacocks, commas, you name it. I even saw some orange-tips resting on flowers, folding their wings in a way that made them blend in perfectly. Also, bees are around in good numbers! It's surprising, especially since slugs seem to have taken a hit this winter.
In my garden, I've seen plenty of large whites, orange-tips, and some speckled woods lately. Still working on identifying all the different ones!
