What Can I Do About My Milwaukee Air Compressor That Won’t Hold Air?

Hey everyone! I've been collecting Milwaukee tools for my home projects, and I've got a Milwaukee Air Compressor (model 2840-20) that I've really enjoyed using for about six months. It's super handy for inflating pool toys and using air tools in my garage. Unfortunately, it started giving me trouble after a repair at a local shop. Now, it hisses and won't hold air above 40 PSI, which is quite disappointing. The shop has since switched to DeWalt, and I'm stuck trying to find a solution. The nearest repair shop won't cover it due to its age, especially since I bought it on Amazon. Considering I have a bit of engineering and computer science background, I'm wondering if it's worth trying to fix myself. Any advice on possible repairs or suggestions?

Have you tried submitting a claim through Milwaukee's website? They offer mail-in repairs. If it's still under warranty, it might be worth it! Just fill out the form, send it in, and they’ll fix it and return it to you.

First things first, you should try to locate the leak; it could be something simple, like the drain valve, which is easy and cheap to replace. If the leak is in the hose, those can also be swapped out without too much hassle.

Do you happen to know where I can find a teardown guide for this compressor? It might help in figuring out the issue!
