I have some pacific willow that recently fell down, and it's currently just seasoning by my burn pile. I'm curious about what kinds of projects I can consider using it for. Any suggestions?

Willow is also great for making internal blocks and linings for violin family instruments. You can also use it for purfling—add a nice touch to your instruments!
You can actually make charcoal for drawing from smaller branches of willow. Just remove the bark, put the sticks in a tin or an old soup can, seal it up while leaving a tiny hole, and put it in a low fire until the smoke stops. Let it cool before opening it up. You'll have artist-quality willow charcoal!
In my experience, willow rots pretty quickly when it's in contact with the ground or other wood. It works great as wood chips or filling for raised garden beds. But if you have it touching the ground, it's not going to last long!
Yeah, it's impressive how much better the sound gets with quality wood!
