What Can I Grow in My Greenhouse This Autumn?

I just got a secondhand greenhouse and it's sitting empty right now. The catch is that we're usually away from home during the summer, so keeping up with plant maintenance might be tricky. I'm looking for seed recommendations that I can sow in the autumn and later transplant. Is it even feasible to grow anything this way, or do I need to stick to spring/summer planting? I'm open to any flowering plants, not just vegetables!

You can definitely plant hardy annuals in autumn! They can go out before the frosts or even in very early spring. That way, you can enjoy some flowers earlier in the season without too much fuss.

Consider setting up an auto irrigation system like AutoPots. They can keep your plants well-watered with minimal effort, especially if you’re away a lot. It might save you from worrying about your plants while you’re gone!

Chard, parsley, and rocket are great options to grow in your greenhouse during the winter. Rainbow chard is particularly eye-catching and easy to care for! In early spring, you can start seedlings for any summer plants you want to put in the ground later on. Just make sure to plant them out when it’s still moist and not too frosty so they can settle in well before your trips away.
