So, I'm dealing with a frustrating situation here in Illinois. My neighbor has this massive buckthorn tree that's leaning over into our yard and, despite it being an invasive species and illegal to buy or sell, he refuses to remove it because he says it's too expensive. We're constantly pulling up saplings that spread from it, so I'm hoping there's a way to either cover the cost of its removal or some safe method for us to deal with it ourselves. Any ideas on what we can do?

One option is to offer to cover the cost of a tree removal service since you’re the one impacted by it. If the tree were on your property, you'd have to deal with it, right? Plus, nudging him with this idea might get him to see it differently.
