What Causes a Sagging Door and How Can I Fix It?

I've noticed that my door is sagging, and I can't figure out why. I've checked the hinges, which seem fine, and have tightened them, but the door still hangs low. If I lift it by the handle, I can close it with some effort, but when it hangs too low, it just won't close at all. I'm not sure whether this is a hinge problem or something else. Here's a link to some pictures of the issue: [Pics here](https://imgur.com/a/oK76IPv). Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Another thing to consider—have you replaced the hinge screws with longer ones? Often, the standard screws are just too short to provide solid support, which can lead to sagging issues.

From your pics, it seems like the gap between the door and the frame is uneven along the hinge side. If that's the case, it's likely that your door frame might not be square, possibly due to settling of the house. You could try shimming the top hinge away from the opening to correct the alignment!

It sounds like your door might not be square anymore. Check if the door itself has remained square since it was installed. If it looks a bit tilted, it could indicate that something inside has failed.

Also, check if there's any play in the hinges. Open the door and gently push on the top while pulling on the bottom. If the hinges aren't aligned well, unscrewing them slightly and adding shims can help get the door squared with the frame.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely check the hinges for play.
