Hey everyone! I'm in Oregon and about to install my window AC unit. It fits in a window that opens horizontally, but there's a big gap above it that I need to fill. I'm looking for a clear material that I can measure and cut to size so sunlight can still shine through. Any suggestions?

Have you thought about using Plexiglass? It's about 1/8th inch thick. To make installation easier and for future reuse, it’s a good idea to build a frame around it. If you're not into DIY, local cabinet shops usually have experience with this type of project; they could help you out!
Definitely check out Plexiglass or Lexan! They’re affordable, and you can take it to a glass shop; they’ll cut it down to the exact dimensions you need. Perfect for your application and still lets the light in!
You might want to try using Plexiglass or acrylic panels. They’re pretty versatile and lightweight, and you can attach them to the frame with some velcro or hook-and-loop tape. I’ve used them on my windows, and they work great!
